The Fight Against Cybercrime Has a Home in Kansas City.
October 27, 2026
There’s a story the industry likes to tell about where the next great cybersecurity company gets built. It gets built in Silicon Valley, or Boston, or Tel Aviv, by people who have never set foot in Overland Park, Kansas. We’ve been proving that story wrong since the day we launched, and on October 20, we did it again with a ribbon cutting at our new office at Corporate Woods in Overland Park.
Overland Park Mayor Curt Skoog and the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce helped us make it official, and our partners at the Kansas City Chiefs made sure it felt like Kansas City. Chiefs legend Neil Smith signed autographs, KC Wolf kept the crowd entertained, and the Chiefs Cheerleaders brought their signature energy to the celebration. Employees, customers, partners, and community leaders joined us for the occasion, along with some very special guests: the kids getting their first glimpse of where Mom or Dad spends their workday.
It was a celebration, and a memorable one at that. But the real story goes beyond the ribbon cutting. To understand why this milestone matters, you have to look at what brought us here.
When TENEX launched in January 2025, Overland Park was already part of the plan. Founder and CEO Eric Foster grew up in Kansas City and built his cybersecurity career here, Co-Founder and CFO/COO Ryan Shreve has Kansas City roots of his own, and both of them had spent years hiring the talent this region produces. So while the company is headquartered in Sarasota, Florida, from the first day it existed a meaningful share of the people doing the work have sat in Overland Park in a modest office in Corporate Woods.
That office did not stay big enough for long. TENEX was built from the ground up on a simple belief: the future of cybersecurity is fully agentic and human-led.
Some might assume that when AI handles 100% of security alerts, you need fewer people. We see it differently. By taking on the volume and repetitive work, AI frees our experts to focus on what matters most: threat hunting, critical decisions, and the kind of strategic thinking that only humans can bring. The technology gets smarter, and the people behind it become even more important.
So we kept hiring. And we kept growing.
Since launching in January 2025, we've now outgrown two offices at Corporate Woods. Each time, we've been fortunate to find room to expand right here in the same office park. The space we opened on October 20 marks our third home at Corporate Woods in less than two years, and our largest yet.
The best part? As our team continues to grow, we've been able to stay rooted in Overland Park, keeping the same community, familiar faces, and favorite lunch spots along the way.
A lot happened in those two years. In March we announced a $250 million Series B led by Crosspoint Capital Partners. IT-Harvest named TENEX No. 1 on its 2026 Cyber 150. We built relationships with Google Cloud, Microsoft and Wiz, expanded into Europe and the Middle East, and became the Official Cybersecurity Partner of the Kansas City Chiefs, which is how a Chiefs legend and a wolf in a jersey came to be standing in our lobby. Through all of it, the hiring in Overland Park never slowed down, and when Eric took the microphone at the ribbon cutting, that history is what he talked about. Not the square footage. How we got here, and what we do inside these walls.
“I grew up here, and I’ve always known what this region has to offer. When we started TENEX, Overland Park was an obvious place to build. We’ve outgrown two offices since then, and both times, the answer was right here in the park. We fight evil here and every day, the people in this building go up against attackers trying to hurt hospitals, schools, utilities and businesses, and they win. We’re a global company now, and a lot of that fight still happens right here in Overland Park.”
- Eric Foster, Founder and CEO, TENEX.AI
Great Technology. Exceptional Humans. Midwest Talent.
What happens inside these walls is what made having our families there on October 20 so special.
At TENEX, we combine AI operating at machine speed with the expertise, judgment, and creativity of world-class security professionals. AI handles the volume. Humans make the critical decisions.
Many of those talented people work right here in Overland Park, doing work that most people never get to see. Our grand opening gave their families a chance to experience that world firsthand. Kids met KC Wolf, parents toured the office, and spouses got a glimpse into what their loved ones do every day to protect organizations around the world.
It was more than an office opening. It was a chance to celebrate the people behind the technology and share that pride with the people who matter most to them.
The new office gives that team more room to collaborate, build and keep fighting the good fight, and we’re not done hiring. We’re continuing to grow across cybersecurity, engineering and customer-facing roles, with relocation assistance available for eligible hires, because you don’t have to be in Silicon Valley to change an industry. We’re proving that right here in the Heartland.
To our employees, their families, our customers and our partners, thank you for being part of this. Special thanks to Mayor Curt Skoog and his team, Libbey Tucker and the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce for celebrating with us, and to our partners at the Kansas City Chiefs, Neil Smith, KC Wolf and the Chiefs Cheerleaders for making the day one to remember.
